Michel Sicotte
March 3, 1950 - May 11, 2023

It is with great sadness that we are announcing the death of Michel Sicotte, on May 11, 2023, at the age of 73 years old, after a courageous battle with leukemia. He is leaving behind his wife of 43 years, Susie, his 3 sons Jean (Sophie Denis), Charles and Marc (Arianne Vu), his three grandchildren Mathias, Darrick and Théodore, his mother Françoise, his brothers Jacques (Linda Sicotte), Pierre, Luc (Gillian Hall), his sister Marie (Normand Balthazard), Susie’s brother John Lefebvre and his wife Connie, her sister Lynn Lefebvre and her spouse René Bergeron, his beloved nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Michel left us with serenity, surrounded by his family with the sentiment of having lived a fully accomplished life.

Michel had a successful career in the Commercial Real Estate sector for more than 35 years as a Partner (Devencore – Avison Young) and as an Advisor to large national public Corporations including Quebecor, Videotron and more importantly in recent years working closely with Quebec’s Ministry of Health and Social Services in the Greater Montreal area and across the province. Michel developed and maintained an excellent reputation with the key players in the industry as well as with his colleagues, the commercial brokerage community, developers / entrepreneurs, owners as well as professionals including architects, and engineers and other specialists in the sector. Over the last 12 years, his sons Jean and Marc joined his team to learn from and to continue to grow the business.

On a personal note, Michel and Susie shared a great passion for golf as well as enjoying many other sports together, including cycling, downhill and cross-country skiing, sailing and squash. Michel and Susie also loved to travel together and above all to spend time with close friends and family.

The family wishes to thank the team of Doctor Denis-Claude Roy and Dr Julie Bergeron of the Center for Research at the Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital, and their respective teams at St-Jérôme and Ste-Agathe Hospitals, who gave great care over the last year. A special thank you for the medical staff at the St-Jovite’s CLSC as well from the palliative care team at the Laurentian Hospital in Ste-Agathe, in particular Dr Mathieu Guilbault.

Visiting hours will take place at the Mount-Royal funeral complex, 1297 Chemin de la Forêt, Outremont, on Monday June 5th from 15:00 to 18:00 and from 19:00 to 21:00, and a celebration of life ceremony will be held on June 6, at 11:00, followed by a light lunch. Family will receive condolences at 10:00.
