Manouchehr Saadat Noori

1939 - 2023

In loving memory of our dear husband, dad and poppa, Dr. Manouchehr (Manny) Saadat Nouri, it is with a great sadness that we announce his passing on August 14, 2023, at the age of 83 years in Montreal, Canada.

Manouchehr was born on September 5th, 1939 in Tehran, Iran.  He was a distinguished and honorary student winning many awards throughout his academic years.  His thirst for knowledge and discovery led him to excel in multiple academic fields. He held a BA degree in Journalism from Tehran University, an MS degree in Human Nutrition from Columbia University (U.S.), a DVM degree from Tehran University, and obtained his PhD in Humanity from Vanderbilt University (USA).

He loved teaching and was a professor at Tehran University from 1968-1986. He authored numerous scientific articles/books and was the founder of the cultural and scientific Journal of Farm (Mazra'eh) in 1980.  His research works on Nutrition in Ancient Iran were published in the literary and scientific Journal of Vaheed in Tehran from 1970-1973, and were then subsequently published online in 2010. Another of his passions was poetry, often reciting his favorites during dinners with his family. He wrote his own poems and translated multiple international and Iranian poems. One of his translations into English was the Rabbia Balkhi's poem, which was featured by a respected journalist Sally Armstrong in Bitter Roots, Tender Shoots.

Manouchehr is survived by his wife Mahrokh (Martha) Adelani; his three daughters and spouses: Padideh and Stephane, Paradise and Scott, Parya and Samy; and his grandchildren, Tara, Cameron and Aidan.

He will be forever in our hearts …
