Matthew A. Reutcky passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and children at the Royal Victoria Hospital on August 19th at the age of 89.

Matthew studied dentistry at McGill and had an active professional life. He had a thriving family practice in Westmount, spent many years volunteering at the Shriner’s – Montreal Hospital for Crippled Children, was clinical director of the Dental Department at the Royal Victoria hospital for 30 years, was a dental consultant for various insurance companies and more recently for the RCMP.  

Matthew loved and lived life to the fullest. He was previously married to his loving wife Barbara Jean McEwan-Fraser until her death in 1995. He will be remembered for his work as a dentist and teacher, his love of woodworking, passion for cooking and in recent years debating US politics.

He will be sorely missed by his spouse and wife of 27 years, Louise Hurtubise, his son Charles (Sophie Bitsakis), his stepchildren Laurie Fraser (Iain Muir), Cameron (deceased) (Louise Soucy), Kim (Mark Dagys), Tracey (Mike Snarr) and his many grandchildren: Matthew and Karly Dagys, David and Patrick Snarr, Isabelle and Margaux Fraser.

The funeral will be held Saturday August 26th at the Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours Chapel at 11h30. The family will be at the entrance of the Chapel at 11AM to receive condolences. A small reception will be held in the crypt of the church following the ceremony.
