It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Destounis of Montreal, on August 30, 2023, at the age of 86. Bob peacefully passed away in the company of his loving wife and best friend Christa. Bob is survived by his beloved wife Christa (nee Sommerey) of 49 years, his brother Gerry (Bonnie), his sisters Dina (George), Betty (Leo), Aphrodite (Demetre d. 2018) and Angeline (Steve). He will also be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, godchildren, great nieces and great nephews.             

Bob was very proud to be the first pharmacist in Canada of Greek decent. His pharmacy on Park Avenue and Mount Royal was well known to the Greek community. Many people frequently visited him not only for prescriptions but also for personal and medical advice. Bob always shared his love of knowledge and the importance of education, encouraging others to strive for excellence. 

Bob Left behind a legacy of love, kindness and appreciation of family.

Visitation will be held at the Mount Royal Funeral Complex, 1297 Chemin de la Forêt Outremont, Quebec H2V 2P9, on Monday, September 11, 2023, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Funeral Service will be held at the Mount Royal Funeral Complex Chapel 1297 Chemin de la Forêt Outremont, Quebec H2V 2P9, on Tuesday September 12, 2023, at 12:00 p.m.          

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of Montreal would be greatly appreciated.
