BANAS, Clementine (nee Pilat)
Peacefully on September 3, 2023, aged 93, beloved wife of the late Walter Banas Sr. Predeceased by her parents John and Sophie Pilat. Loving mother of son Walter Jr. and his wife Linda and daughter Rosanne and her late husband Sheldon Langlois. Devoted and proud “Babcia” to Caroline and Adam Banas and to Sarah and Leandra Langlois. Survived by cherished sister Jane Jasinski. Aunt to Ronald and Wanda Jasinski. Sister-in-law to the late Rene Jasinski.
Clementine was a remarkable woman who lived a full and rewarding life. She had a distinguished 25-year teaching career at St. Finbarr’s and St. Brendan’s schools in Montreal’s Rosemont district and was able to provide her students with a positive and loving environment with which to commence their grade school journey. Clementine was also active in Montreal’s Polish community in many volunteer roles throughout her life. In retirement, she pursued her hobbies of needlepoint, knitting and baking as well as traveling the world with her dear Walter.
Above all Clementine will be remembered by her family as a bedrock in providing unwavering care and support in a tireless manner. She was always there for us and we cherished her boundless enthusiasm and encouragement of our endeavours. Clementine was a good person, a kind person, and a friend to all. May she rest in peace. Visitation will be held Monday, September 18 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Edmund of Canterbury Church (105 Beaconsfield Blvd., Beaconsfield, QC).
