I never expected to pen an obituary for my brother Nicholas, or Nicolaki as we called him.
Nicolaki in Greek means small Nicholas even if he was never small.
It was unexpected because he is 76 years old, four years younger than me.
Nick was born in Alexandria, Egypt, lived there until his late teens and then moved to Greece.
He and our mother joined me in Canada after the passing of my father.
Nick was an avid dreamer, bringing happiness and hope, sometimes disappointment
and tribulation. He was a hard worker and a perfectionist.
Nick adored our mother. I would find them sitting in the kitchen until the early hours of the morning talking.
He is survived by his long-time partner Michele, P., his brother myself, two nephews, my sons, and an extended family in Greece from our mother’s side. His idol and best friend Peter, P and family as well as many friends in Greece.
We miss him and wish him a bon voyage.
