Obituary
Allen Horace Lee
1930 - 2024
Allen Lee’s blue eyes sparkled his entire 93 years. He was a devoted, loving husband and a thoughtful, caring father - and that was enough for him. He said he had a full life and that he never expected to live as long as he had.
Allen was born in Montreal to Bessie and Horace Lee, the younger brother of Thelma (Jean-Luc Comire) and Frederick (Denise Beauregard).
You may have seen him one of the many years he worked at CP Rail (the second of three generations at CPR), or running errands in Fabreville, where he and his wife Aurie, raised their family and lived for 53 years.
He believed in finishing everything he started and not wasting anything. He would rather fix something than buy new and learned how to build and repair most everything in the family home. He loved dancing with the light of his life, travel, good food, classic cars, fishing, creating in wood and stained glass, listening to classical music, and sitting around a campfire playing harmonica. He always had a story to tell.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 72 years, Aurora, and his “girls” Dawn (Ian), and Jennifer (Ross) and granddaughter Sarah. He is survived by many nieces and nephews and his daughters’ friends who he considered extended family.
He takes a piece of our hearts with him but leaves a part of his own in return.
A special thank you to Dr Roudaia, Josie and all the oncology staff at Lakeshore General who cared and fought so hard for “Mr Lee”. Thank you to Carole and Laura from Nova, the team from CLSC who looked in on him and to everyone at Teresa Dellar Palliative Residence who helped to see him out of this world with dignity and compassion.
