Joseph Molony
June 6, 1952 – May 2, 2024
The Molony family is saddened to announce the passing of our beloved Joey. Predeceased by his parents Terence (2006), Connie (1983) and his brother Terry (2023), he is survived by his loving siblings Annmarie (David), Brian (Brenda), Brendan (Maureen), Martin (Jayne), Michael (Nancy), Paul (Mary), Katy, and his sister-in-law Kay. He will also be missed by his 15 nieces and nephews and their children in Canada and Ireland.
Born in Dublin, Joey arrived in Toronto as a toddler. After finishing school, he embarked on a lifelong career with Imperial Tobacco, working in Ontario, Quebec and England. He made many friends there who will miss him dearly. Joey loved his travel, which brought him all over the world, but always had a soft spot for the family home in Toronto. Those who visited him in Montreal would always know where the best smoked meat sandwiches and hot dogs were in town! His quiet generosity was evident to all who knew him.
A thank you to the Hospital Staff at Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal and a special thank you to Joey’s best friend, Darrell Helyar, for all his help during this difficult time.
Hopefully there is a McKibbins (spelled correctly, Teresa!) in heaven where he can listen to the old lady playing the spoons to Celtic music! We will miss him dearly!
There will be a Celebration of Life in Montreal in June.
