It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Fred Hirsch on Thursday, June 6 at the age of 94. Loving husband and survived by his wife Joan Findlay, his nieces Roberta Rassenti(Barry Cameron), Teresa Rassenti(Doug Hall), Linda Rassenti, Sarah MacDonald(Allan Pauletto) Andrew MacDonald, Anne Findlay(Dan Motamedi), and cherished  great nieces, and nephews.

Fred was born in Oxbow Saskatchewan of German heritage to Adam Hirsch and Barbara Schubkegel. The family moved to Montreal where Fred grew up. He apprenticed as a carpenter at which he excelled and became a master cabinetmaker. He began his career with Art Laboratory which took him from coast to coast managing the installations of labs in schools, universities and hospitals. After he met and married the love of his life on July 6, 1974, he started working for Multi-Form Kitchens  where he was able to remain full time in Montreal. Joan and Fred would have celebrated fifty years of marriage next month!

He was a wonderful caring person, respected and beloved. We will surely miss him!

Visitation will be held at The Mount Royal Funeral Complex Chapel, 1297 Foret Rd, Outremont, on Friday June 14 from 1:00 – 2:00. The funeral service will follow the visitation.
