Marie Egan (Megan) Hayes, 74, in Montreal, QC, passed away on September 7, 2024, after a long battle with cancer. Regardless, she died peacefully. Megan was born on May 29, 1950. After completing grade and high school, she embarked on a lengthy career in various capacities at the Montreal General Hospital. During that time, Megan developed eternal friendships that survived intact and thrived for more than half a century. She retired in 2012 and spent her time travelling, spending time with her dear friends and family, and caring for her beloved dogs. Megan was always ready to step up and help, regardless of cost: financial; or emotional.

Megan was predeceased by her father, Matthew Joseph (Frank), and her sister, Margaret. She is survived by her mother, Mary Burns, her sister, Maureen, and her brother, John (Janis). She will be interred at the Coté de Neiges Cemetery on Saturday September 14, 2024 at 11:45. The gathering place will be Kane & Fetterly Funeral Home, 5301 Decarie Blvd at 10:45. Afterwards we will raise a glass to Megan, and swap stories, at the Orchard Pub, 5563 Monkland Ave..
