It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Despina Sophia Liberopoulos
Shousha on September 23, 2024, peacefully surrounded by her family. Despina, better known
as Desi, was the devoted wife of Pierre Shousha and loving mother to Antoine and Margaux.
Desi was a force to be reckoned with, a true fighter whose spirit could light up any room.
Nothing ever came easy for Desi, but her grit, hard work, charisma, charm, and unwavering
intelligence allowed her to beat all odds. She faced life’s challenges with remarkable strength
and resilience, inspiring everyone around her.

Beyond her fierce determination, Desi had a heart of gold. She was a nurturing friend, always
ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Her laughter was contagious, and her love for
those who were lucky enough to be in her heart was boundless. Whether she was hosting lively
gatherings, sharing one of her many hilarious stories, or offering wise advice, Desi made every
moment special.

Desi’s legacy will live on through her children, Antoine and Margaux, who embody her values of
kindness, courage, and compassion, along with her love for animals. It will also continue
through every life she touched on her remarkable journey.

She had a unique ability to connect with others, leaving a lasting impression on friends, family,
and even acquaintances. Desi's warmth, charisma and generosity inspired those around her to
strive for greatness and approach challenges with tenacity.

Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her. Every story shared,
every laugh remembered, and every lesson learned from Desi will be a testament to the
profound impact she made.

The family would like to thank Dr Scott Owen and his team, Dr. Marie Duclos and the team at
the Cedar Cancer Center, The West Island Cancer Wellness Center and everyone who
supported her throughout her fight.

Visitations will be held on Tuesday October 1, 2024 from 2 pm - 5 pm and 7pm - 9 pm and the
funeral will take place Wednesday October 2, 2024 at 11 am at the Mount Royal funeral complex
(1297 Chem. de la Forêt Outremont, QC H2V 2P9).

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to The Shields of Athena or the
SPCA in Despina’s name.
