It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Antoni Korbiak on September 27th, 2024, at the age of 97.   Antoni (Anton) was born on February 12, 1927 in the Nykhlovychi village of the Lviv region of Ukraine. His parents Petro and Sophia Korbiak had another younger son, Anton's brother, Petro junior. 

Anton had a very difficult early childhood and youth. He was taken to Germany and forced to work during World War II, when he returned to the Soviet Ukraine, he was sent to the working colonies in Siberia and eventually had no choice but to serve in the Soviet army. In 1959, Anton arrived in Canada with his wife Halyna and son Roman, where he managed to have a successful career at Coorsh company as a smoke house operator. He had many accomplishments over the years. He lived a happy life and provided well for his devoted wife and their three children. 

Anton outlived his loving wife Halyna, who passed away in 2016 after 62 years of mariage. With his passing, he leaves in mourning his cherished son Roman (Karen) and loving grandson Roman Alexander, his cherished daughter Vera, his adored and loving granddaughter Kalena, his cherished daughter Mary (Stefan) and loving grandsons Jonathan and Stefan junior as well as the cherished niece of his dearly departed wife Halyna, Martha and her loving children Yoseph and Adela. 

Thank you dear father, friend and relative, for being in our lives. Rest in peace, you are forever with us all.

The family will receive condolences at Les Espace Memoria, 3254 Bellechasse, Montreal, on Thursday October 17th, 5:00- 9:00 p.m. and the funeral will be held Friday October 18th at 11:00 a.m. Funeral at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 6185 10th Ave. Montreal, followed by the burial at Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery at 1:15 pm.
