René Garand
1939 - 2025
René Garand, 85, who spent 64 years as a missionary in Malawi, South Africa and Canada, passed away on Wednesday, January 01, 2025 at Carrefour Providence in Montréal.
Son of the late Émile Garand and the late Germaine Angers.
His brothers and sisters: the late Marcel (the late Lucille Laprise), the late Raymond (Monique Labonté), the late Gaston (Françoise Leblanc), the late Jean-Guy (Marie-Claire Dargy), Gertrude, O.M.M.I., the late Claude (the late Claire Beaudet), the late Michel (the late Marjolaine Nault), Françoise (Jean-Claude Carrier), Thérèse, Bernard (Colette Desrochers).
He is survived by his confreres: Les Missionnaires d'Afrique (Pères Blancs).
He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as other relatives and friends.
The family will receive condolences on Saturday, January 18 from 2 p.m. at Complexe funéraire Grégoire & Desrochers, 1300, rue Notre-Dame est, Victoriaville (Québec) G6P 0B4.
A memorial service will be held that same Saturday at PASSAGE.
