James Edward Morton - January 9th,1929 - January 19th, 2025.
James Edward Morton died on January 19th, 2025, at Lakeshore Hospital in Montreal, Que. James' last few years of life were complicated by his COPD, and other chronic illnesses.
Uncle Jim was predeceased by his beloved fraternal twin sister, Marjorie Wells, and leaves behind his treasured wife, Norma, of 68 years; niece Joyce Steeves (Greg); nephew Ian Wells (Lalaine); nephew Graham Wells (Joanne); nephews Mark MacDonald, Gord MacDonald, and (niece by marriage) Joanne Vincent, wife of Gord MacDonald. Jim will be missed by all his great nieces and nephews, and his great-great nephew, Abraham, pictured in Jim's arms in the attached photo.
Jim (a quiet and reserved fellow) and Norma lived almost their entire married life in Montreal, and made many close friends, especially in the North Cliff neighbourhood. They travelled extensively as a couple, and with friends. Jim had a long and productive career with Canadian National Railway, and thereafter with Via Rail. Jim was an active member of his church, and a deacon of his main Baptist church for better than two decades. Jim will be missed by family and friends.
