Obituary
Rolland Dubeau
1937 - 2025
Rolland Dubeau
(Cartierville, Montreal)
Son of the late Aurore Trudel and the late Nelson Dubeau
He passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 15, 2025, in the evening, at his home, at the dawn of his 88th year.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and father-in-law.
He dedicated the majority of his life to engineering, law, technical investigations, and teaching mechanics, both at the former Commission des écoles catholiques de Montréal (CECM) and at Polytechnique Montreal. His passion for building log cabins, music, and crafting numerous violins and guitars brightened his life and the lives of those who shared it with him. His unwavering curiosity and motivation made him an extraordinary self-taught individual. His sense of humor and self-deprecation will forever be etched in the memories of those who were close to him.
He is survived by his wife Paulette, his sons Jerry and Alain (Anna), his daughter Guylaine (Éric), his grandchildren Julien, Amélie, Catou, Marie-Ève, Marc-Antoine, Anne-Julie, and Fanny, his daughter-in-law Liliane, his son-in-law Guy, as well as his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews. Not to mention his beloved little cat "Bébé-Minou."
The family will receive condolences on Saturday, February 22, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Église de la Visitation du Sault-au-Récollet), located at 1847, Boulevard Gouin East, Montreal, H2C 1C8. The funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. Google Maps Link
Instead of flowers, a donation to the Raymond-Dewar Institute or to cancer research would be more appreciated.
