Passed away peacefully at St-Françoise d’Assise Hospital, on June 15th, 2025 at the age of 85.  Son of the late Mrs. Eileen McCarthy and the late Mr. Frank Hood. Husband of  Monique  Roy. He lived in Quebec City.

Gary will be lovingly remembered by his son David (Diane Auger), his grandson Devon Sauvé (Katerina Dinic), and his sisters Lorna (late James Dawes) and Linda (Jean-Claude Collin). He was predeceased by his sister Trina and his brother Francis (late Lise Coté). He also leaves to mourn his aunt, Pauline Bigaouette (Thomas McCarthy), as well as his nieces and nephews: David Nelthorpe (Kris Ewing ), Terry Nelthorpe (Athena Brewer), Coleen Nelthorpe (Chris Pollard  ), Belinda Dawes (Derek Platte), Mathew Dawes (Julie Labrecque), and Richard Collin (JC  Hardwick), along with extended family and many dear friends.

Gary’s warmth, sense of humor, and kind spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday July 5th , 2025 at  11:00 am , at  St-Catherine de la Jacques Cartier’s Church, 2 Jolicoeur St., Sainte-Catherine-de-la-Jacques-Cartier  Québec, QC G3N 2L7

The family  will  receive  condolences at the  church from 10:00 am  to  11:00 .
