Rolando passed away peacefully on January 23, 2023.

Born on November 12, 1948, in Paranaque, Philippines, Rolando was a jeepney driver in the Philippines before becoming the last of five siblings to immigrate to Canada back in 1974. He worked as a welder for New Flyer Industries for almost 37 years before retirement in 2011.

On his spare time, Rolando actively participated in both the Filipino basketball league and 10-pin bowling league in the 80’s and 90’s, all before moving on to a lifestyle of relaxation and helping his children with their growing families.

Rolando was greatly loved and will be missed by his loving wife, Emiliana; his two children, Rommel (Edlyn), Elmer (Iris); his grandchildren, Roen, Evan and Thomas; his sisters, Erlinda, Lourdes (Fernando Sarmiento); brother, Eduardo (Annabelle); numerous nephews and nieces; grandnephews and grandnieces; the Santos Family and the Acuna Family.

Rolando is preceded in death by his father, Igmedio and mother, Salud along with his brother, Danilo.

Lamay will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB.

Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg with Reverend Father Rainerio Sarce officiating.
