Obituary

Margaret Rose Field, née Nixon

1927 - 2024

It is with sadness that the family of Margaret announce her peaceful passing at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on January 30, 2024. She was born in her family home in Montreal on May 5, 1927 and lived most of her life in the same city. In 2012 she moved to Ontario to be closer to ‘her girls’.

Beloved wife and best friend of the late Philip for over 56 years. Loving Mom of Sharon Field (late Terry McAllister) and Heather Field. Cherished Grammy to Jeff (Alessia Tenaglia), Greg (Sancha Noranho), Chris (Rumelda Johnstone) and Kylie (Albert Chlapowski) McAllister, and Justin and Jennifer (Max Maurice) Sharma. Great Grammy of ‘The Baby’, Lucas McAllister.

Margaret was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Ada Rose Nixon, and her siblings; Melbourne (Elizabeth), Albert (Ann), and Dorothy Nixon.

Although Margaret has now found peace and is reunited with family members who have passed before her, the void that she leaves in of those who knew and loved her will be forever felt.

Cremation has taken place.  A private family service and interment will take place in Montreal in the spring. Arrangements entrusted to Mount Royal Funeral Complex, 1297 Chemin de la Foret, Outremont, Quebec H2V 2P9.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to any Humane Society in support of Margaret’s love of animals.
