Obituary
Léopold David
1948 - 2024
On the night of August 11, 2024, at around 3:00 am to be precise, a new star was added to the Milky Way. Mr. Léopold David passed away at the age of 76; too early, of course, but serenely, peacefully and without suffering; surrounded by people he loved dearly.
This kind-hearted man left his mark among us by being present and helping family members in need. Until a few weeks before his departure for a life without suffering, he had also been volunteering for over 30 years with the Maison Plein Cœur organization, whose mission is to support, accompany and destigmatize people living with HIV.
Loving, helpful, smiling and bon vivant are the words that best reflect his personality.
He is survived by his niece Lydia (Guillaume), who was his daughter in his eyes and a father to her; his brothers: Robert (late Madeleine), René (Monique), Léonard (late Suzanne), Jacques (Monique), late Victor (Huguette), late Gilles (Rolande), late Gérard, late Sylvio; and his sisters: Rita (Paul), Clémence (Normand), late Jeannette (late Gérard), late Rachel (late Rosaire), late Claire (late Hervé). He is also survived by countless nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He thanks you all for sharing his life, and wishes to say one last time “I love you”.
The family will receive condolences on Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Urgel Bourgie / Athos Garden Cemetery and Funeral Complex, 8145 chemin de Chambly, Saint-Hubert, Québec J3Y 5K2. Followed by a ceremony at the chapel at 4 p.m.
Donations to the Canadian Lung Cancer Society and/or his beloved Maison Plein Cœur would be greatly appreciated to honour his memory.
