Allan Williams (February 24 1946-January 15-2025)
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Allan Williams on January 15, 2025, at the age of 79. Allan Williams was born in Trinidad on February 24, 1946, to George and Carmen Williams. He attended Rosary School for Boys and embarked on a professional journey as a salesman at AA Laquis, quickly earning recognition for his charisma and dedication.
In 1967, during Expo 67, Allan migrated to Montreal, Canada, to seek more significant opportunities and new adventures. There, he married Angela, and they built a family together. Allan had four wonderful children: Anson, Andy, Susan, and Michelle. Allan began his career as a clerk at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel. However, it was his role as a mechanic at Dollard Newman Chrysler, a fulfilling position he held for 25 years, that he discovered his true calling.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Allan developed a deep passion for football. His dedication extended beyond coaching, as he took pride in fostering teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship among his players.
In addition to his commitment to football, music also held a special place in Allan’s heart. This passion sparked the creation of DJ LOVE EXPRESS, a platform through which he brought great joy to Montreal’s Black community for over 25 years. Allan used his platform to uplift, celebrate culture, and unite individuals through the power of music.
Allan was predeceased in death by his parents, his brothers Eddy and Nello, and his beloved daughter, Michelle. He is survived by his cherished life partner of 25 years, Dianne Dopson, who remained steadfast by his side until his last moments. Allan is also survived by his devoted children, Anson, Andy, and Susan, who carry forward his legacy. His grandchildren Ashley, Jason, Avery, Anderson, Kiara, Kimora, Darris, and Celeste, along with his great-grandchildren Ezekiel and Amore, brought him immense joy and happiness.
Allan will be deeply missed by his football family, including the St. Lazare Stallions, LaSalle Warriors, Châteauguay Raiders, North Shore Football Association (Sunnybrook), St. Laurent Spartans, and Loyola High School. His mentorship and community service legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him and those he touched, both on and off the field.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, January 26th 2025 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, service at 3 p.m followed by a reception:
