Obituary
John R. Hall
1952 - 2025
It is with the deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of John Radway Hall, beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, and friend, at the age of 72. John passed away suddenly on January 26th surrounded by close loved ones.
A dedicated family man, John was the heart and foundation of our family. He cherished the time spent with his children and grandchildren, always being present to offer support, love, and wisdom. His kindness, generosity, and willingness to lend a helping hand were hallmarks of his character.
John was a great music lover and always the life of the party. From his youth in Sunday school choir, to his days at Sir George William CRSG, to DJing at weddings, music was always a huge part of his life. Whether he was singing, playing his favorite records, or sharing his favorite songs with others, music always brought him joy and comfort. Many summers were spent going camping with family and everyone fondly remembers him singing songs around the campfire. Those memories will always remain.
As a community volunteer and soccer coach, John made a lasting impact on a great many individuals. His commitment to the community was unwavering, and he devoted countless hours to coaching young adults, teaching the values of teamwork and respect. His ability to connect with others and make a difference in their lives was a testament to his loving and caring nature.
John was also a fixer. Ever the handyman, he would always leave a place in better shape than when he arrived. Whether it was a broken appliance or a leaky faucet, his hands were never idle, and his mind was always focused on finding a solution. Strong-willed and determined, John faced life’s challenges head-on. From a young age, he was known to have a take-charge personality. He was the planner and organizer, always eager to undertake a new adventure.
While his physical presence will be greatly missed, the legacy of love, generosity, and care he leaves behind will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. John leaves behind his loving spouse of 50 years, Maria, his partner, his world, the love of his life. He is predeceased by his father, Henry Radway Hall, his mother Mary Elizabeth Taylor-Hall, and his older brother William Henry Hall. John is survived by his brothers, Harry, Fred, and James, by his children, Daniel (Debby), Laura (Charles), and Michael (Laura), and by his grandchildren, Eva, Hadrian, Chloe, Sienna, Zoe, Sophia, and Noah.
Visitation will take place on Monday February 3, 2025 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Tuesday February 4, 2025 from 11:00am to 12:00pm, followed by a celebration of John’s life at:
22025 Trans-Canada Hwy, Senneville, Quebec H9X 0B2
where family and friends can come together to honor his memory and share stories of the remarkable man he was.
Rest in peace, John. You will forever be missed, but never forgotten.
