In Loving Memory of Jean-Paul and Maureen Arsenault
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved parents, Jean-Paul and Maureen Arsenault, who left this world within two days of each other, surrounded by their four children—Micheline (Mario), Paul, Stéphane (Nathalie), and Julie—as well as their grandchildren Antonio, Gian Paolo, Justin, Romy, Mélanie, Philippe and Karina. Together for over half a century, they were true soulmates, partners in life and the unwavering guiding lights of our family. Their love for one another and for us was boundless, and their absence leaves an irreplaceable void in our hearts.
Jean-Paul Arsenault
Born in New Carlisle, QC on December 7th, 1931, Jean-Paul (JP) lived his life with integrity, humor and entrepreneurial spirit. Shortly after graduating from McGill University with a Civil Engineering degree, he founded Arsenault Arpenteurs-Géomètres in 1964, a firm that continues to operate successfully today. He was an honoree member of l’Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec and l’Ordre des Arpenteurs-Géomètres du Québec for over 50 years. JP was passionate about sailing, golf and travel, particularly to France, where he and Maureen spent winters for nearly 20 years. JP touched the lives of all who knew him with generosity, whether through lending a helping hand, sharing stories, or simply enjoying quiet moments painting or salmon fishing in his beloved Gaspésie. His warmth and wisdom were a gift to everyone around him.
Maureen Kelly Arsenault
Born in Cornwall, ONT on April 16th, 1938, Maureen embodied grace, kindness and quiet strength. Her nurturing nature and unconditional love for her family were her greatest legacies. Maureen and JP's journey together began at McGill University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in 1959. While Maureen cherished her role as a devoted mother to their four children, she also gracefully balanced her time by supporting JP in his business. A true pioneer on the golf course, Maureen's skill and passion for the game were evident from a young age. She mastered the sport at just 14 years old. She was a passionate learner, masterful chef, she also enjoyed quiet moments in her garden. She delighted in spending time with her seven grandchildren. She had a remarkable ability to listen, offer comfort and inspire those around her.
Together, Jean-Paul and Maureen built a life filled with love, laughter and countless cherished memories. Their deep devotion to family and friends left an enduring mark on all who knew them. They leave behind a legacy of kindness, compassion and joy.
While our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing they are reunited in peace and their love will continue to guide and inspire us throughout our lives.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 25th, at Mont Royal funeral complex, Condoleances will start at 3:00PM, the service to honor their memory will start at 4:00PM, and a reception will follow at 5:00PM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Geriatric Palliative Care units of Verdun Hospital by email info@fondationsanteurbaine.com or by phone at +514.765.7302
JP and Maureen, you were our everything. Your love, wisdom and warmth will forever remain in our hearts.
