Obituary

Connie Dumouchel (née Doherty)

1935 - 2025

Constance/Connie Dumouchel (née Doherty), age 89, passed away peacefully on April 14th, 2025, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. Connie lived a life full of grace, kindness, and unwavering love for her family and friends.

Born in Holmesville, NB on May 2nd, 1935, Connie loved sharing childhood stories about growing up with her five sisters and three brothers on a potato farm at the foot of Moose Mountain. In 1954, after graduating from secretarial school, Connie courageously set out to make a life in Montreal, where she proudly worked for Bell Canada. There she met her beloved husband André, to whom she was married for 65 wonderful and adventurous years. Their union exemplified love and commitment. Together they built a family with five children and a devoted social network of extended family and friends.

Connie was a generous host and always enjoyed a good party. Many a New Year’s Eve was celebrated with singing and dancing around the piano. She loved all music and proudly spent several years sharing her beautiful voice and infectious enthusiasm with the Sweet Adelines.

In retirement, Connie enjoyed many years traveling with her husband, but she also loved being at her home of 49 yrs in Beaconsfield. She was a passionate gardener and invested many hours making her front perennial garden into an attraction with many admirers. When she wasn’t gardening, she was testing out new recipes to share with her family. Indeed, her family was her greatest joy. She was at her best when she and André were hosting summertime meals on the back deck surrounded by their children and grandchildren.

Connie’s infectious smile and joie de vivre touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She had a special way of making people feel valued, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to call her Mum, Ammy and/or friend.

Connie is survived by her loving husband, Andre; her five children, Marc (Anna Komaristaia), Robert, Lisa (John Lewis), Louis (Anita De Laurentis), and Diane. She was a proud and doting grandmother to eight grandchildren: Maddie, Tara, Nicole, Jeremy, Julia, Kate, Jack and Andreas.

A celebration of her life will be held in her honor. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all those who have offered support during this time of loss. Connie's legacy of love and devotion will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

May she rest in peace.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence at 65 André Brunet St, Kirkland, Quebec H9H 3R4
