Gwynneth passed away peacefully in hospital in Montreal after a lengthy illness on April 29, 2025.

Daughter of W.R. (Roy) and Mary (nee Spencer) Allen of Barrie, Ontario.  Beloved aunt of Michael (Angelica) and John (Vivienne Palmer) Bolitho, and great aunt of Victoria.  Sister of Isobel (late Richard).

Gwyn had a 45-year career in nursing.  She was a proud graduate of the Toronto Hospital for Sick Children Nursing class of 1950 and then moved to Montreal to continue her education and teaching career at the Jewish General Hospital.  She pursued her MSc at McGill, graduating in 1975.

She loved symphonies, art, and travel.  Gwyn was also a dedicated volunteer at the Cummings Centre.

Her sharp wit, pragmatic nature, good memory, and devotion to family are among her most memorable qualities that remained with her until the very end.  Unfortunately, the difficult physical work of nursing took its toll.

A funeral in Barrie, Ontario and internment in Thornton, Ontario will be held later this summer.
