Obituary
Marc-Alain Charette
1986 - 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son Marc-Alain Charette, age 38, unexpectedly of heart failure at the Lakeshore Hospital in Pointe-Claire on April 16th.
Marc-Alain will be forever cherished in the hearts of the many who loved him. He leaves behind his loving parents Corinne Benedetti Charette and Normand Charette, his devoted partner Suzette Arrubio and his dear brother Philippe and his partner Ariane Bisaillon. Marc-Alain held his entire family close to his heart. His memory will live on in the hearts of his uncles and aunties: Alain Benedetti and Lynda, Bernard Benedetti and Vicky, Brenda Benedetti and Jeff Tregoning, Elizabeth Desjardins and Mirella Benedetti Bowden. Marc-Alain will be greatly missed by all his cousins who enjoyed many wonderful times with him as they all grew up: Francesca Benedetti (Mike), Gabriella Benedetti (Mikael), Andrea Benedetti (Tom), John Benedetti (Katie), Mark Benedetti (Karine), and his younger cousins Seamus and Mallory Tregoning. Marc-Alain also leaves behind several close friends with whom he shared many an adventure, including Kurt, Carl, Graham and Steve Wade. He is now reunited with his dear grandparents who went before him especially Granny Benedetti.
Marc-Alain was born in Montreal but relocated to Toronto, Ottawa and the West-Island with his mother as she moved for her work. He attended St. Lawrence College in Kingston gaining 2 diplomas and completed his Bachelor of Arts at Carleton University. Marc-Alain like his paternal grandfather before him, became a renovation contractor in Montreal gaining his RBQ license which he was proud of. He had the soul of an artist and the mindset of a project manager, honing his skills by both observation, other craftsmen and by ingenuity and the desire to do it his way. He loved to tell a story to a rapt audience but was surprisingly also a keen listener, observer of human nature and historian of family events. His legacy of fierce loyalty to family and friends, support and love for his people will carry on through all of us.
His life will be celebrated on May 17, at Urgel Bourgie, 3955 Chemin Cote de Liesse, Saint-Laurent (Québec) H4N 2N6, with visitation from 2-4 PM, a funeral service in the chapel there at 4 PM.
