Surrounded by family at his bedside, Septimus passed away on Friday, May 10, 2024.

Born Oct. 10, 1937, in Paradise, Grenada, he was a devoted son of the late Lillan Alexander and the late Veronica Joseph. Devoted husband to Alfreda Smith.

Father to: Hazel-Ann Jordan, Ken Lewis, late Patrick Peters, Aldyth, Roderique and Estell Peters.

Stepfather to: Theresa (Smallest) Budhlall, Raphael and Daniel (Diego) Peters, Steven and Michael Smith and Caroline Smith Bailey.

Father-in-law to: Kimlyn Abraham, Cheryl Bryan, Uriel Bailey.

Grandfather to: Jada Peterkin, Kathy-Ann, Heather, Kayla, Malik, Shekhia, Calvin, Jameila, Garvin and Kellon Peters, Shaun Budhlall, Shelle-Ann, Dave and Kevin Toussaint, Khamela McSween, Kazia, Donnel and Kady Abraham, Heroy Joseph, Ayinka William, Kelly-Ann Edwards, Sobrina Huntley, Daija Douglas, Hope Smith.

An avid gardener and man of few words, Septimus, affectionately known as Seppy, Papa and Wawa, will be greatly missed by many more nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and dear friends. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Jewish General Hospital for their care and kindness.

Condolences and viewing at Kane Fetterly, 5301 Decarie Blvd., on Thursday, May 30th, 2024 from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM. Ceremony at Kane Fetterly on Friday, May 31st, 2024 at 12:30 PM followed by burial at Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery, 4601 Chem. de la Cote-des-Neiges. Reception to follow at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 3970 Chem. de la Cote-Sainte-Catherine.
