1924 - 2023
Peacefully, and surrounded by the love of his family, William Donald (Don) Green passed away on Saturday, February 4th, at the age of 92. Son of the late Andrew and Eva Green. Predeceased by siblings Kenneth and Kathleen. Beloved husband of Alice Elizabeth Green for 52 years. Don is survived by his sons, David, Paul (Jan), and grandchildren, Maelyn and Ailee.
Don was born in the farmhouse on Ninth Line in Stouffville and lived on the farm with his wife and two young sons until an unfortunate fire burned down the barn and livestock was lost. Don and Alice then moved their family into town in the 1980’s.
He was an avid gardener, loved the outdoors, cared deeply for others, and was a follower of Christ. His quiet wisdom and deep love for his family will be forever cherished.
In memorial donation, in lieu of flowers. and out of remembrance of Don’s ability to quietly provide for the needs of others, donations may be made to the Whitchurch-Stouffville Food Bank. Monetary donations can be made through https://www.canadahelps.org/en/.. Donations of non-perishable foods or personal care items will be collected by the family at both the visitation and the funeral.
Friends may call at O’Neill Funeral Home, 6324 Main Street, Stouffville. Visitation on Thursday, February 9th from 5:30pm - 7:30pm. Visitation on Friday, February 10th from 1:00pm - 2:00pm, followed by funeral service beginning at 2:00pm. Gathering to celebrate Don’s life held in same location, after funeral service. Parking is limited, so we ask that you park on Main St as well as at the United Church, on 34 Church St S.
