It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Louise Savoy Lutfy on July 23rd, at her home in Westmount, surrounded by her four children. She is predeceased by her husband John Lutfy.  She is survived by her children: Michelle Savoy (Chip Pitfield); Louise Savoy (Pierre Moreau); Philippe Savoy (Birgit Kibbel) and Patrick Savoy (Fulvia Manarin); her grandchildren: Justine, Eric, Sophie, Nicolas, Isabelle, Olivia, Stephanie, Sasha, Luke, Ward, Keefer, the late Marshall; and her four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by John Lutfy’s children: Michael, Carole, Gerry (Sammy), Georges (the late Janice) and Paul (Lucie).

Louise will be remembered for her love of the arts, travel, concerts, cooking, bridge, music and theatre but it was her family that brought her the greatest joy. Not surprisingly, she always inspired us with her elegance, her curiosity, her generosity and her love and appreciation of beautiful things. Many will miss her candour and willingness to share her thoughts and advice. She was a loyal friend to many and a fierce bridge partner until the end. She will be remembered as “Une grande dame” in love with life.  She will be deeply missed and we will love her forever.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to The Montreal Chest Institute at McGill University Health Centre would be much appreciated. A celebration of life will take place at the Mount Royal Funeral Complex, 1297 Chemin de la Forêt, Outremont, Quebec on Saturday, August 24th at 1 p.m., followed by a reception.
