Céline Lamarre (née Robitaille)
1943 - 2025
It is with sadness that we share the news of Céline Robitaille Lamarre’s peaceful passing, surrounded by her loved ones, on January 9, 2025, at the age of 81.
Born in Quebec City on September 13, 1943, Céline was known for her devotion to her family, her intelligence and her curiosity. She taught for many years in Quebec City, in Africa and at CEGEP Champlain in St-Lambert, and completed a thesis on semantic-lexicographic problems to earn a Doctorate in Linguistics in 1991.
She leaves behind her husband Jacques Lamarre, daughter Isabelle (Pierre-Jean Bissonnette), son Patrick (Marie-Diane), grandchildren Sophie Bissonnette, Hugo Bissonnette, Vincent Lamarre, Thomas Lamarre and Julien Lamarre, brother André Robitaille (Danielle Gagnon) and Lamarre brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, the late Bernard (the late Louise Lalonde), Madeleine (the late Alain Bilodeau), Claude (the late Marguerite Gingras), the late François (Louise Fradette), the late Pierre (the late Suzanne Dubois), Louise (Georges Proulx), Suzanne (Jean-Marc Dumas), Céline (Jean Cliche), Paul (Suzanne Fontaine) and Louis (Danielle Rousse), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, goddaughters and friends.
A great lady of mind and heart, with a keen interest in her family, international affairs, finance, the visual arts, film and music, she will remain forever engraved in our hearts and minds.
Visitation will take place at Mont-Royal Funeral Complex (1297 Chemin de la Forêt, Outremont, H2V 2P9) on Friday, January 31st from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and on Saturday, February 1 from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Céline's life at the Mont-Royal funeral complex chapel on Saturday, February 1 at 10:30 a.m., followed by a light snack.
The family wishes to thank the entire care team who supported her since the onset of her illness three years ago.
