Dr. Pauline Raymond-Martimbeau passed away in Dallas, Texas on November 5, 2024. She is survived by her husband Dr. Louis A. Corriveau, her children Stéphanie Martimbeau (Frédéric Dubois) and Claude-Émilie Martimbeau (François-Étienne Rhéaume), her grandchildren Alexie-Émilie, Frédéric, Éloïse and Raphaëlle, her sisters and brothers Claudette Raymond (Guy Gagné), Nicole Raymond (Louis Rapagna), Claude Raymond (Denise Pelletier), Marcel Paul Raymond (Linda Casey), Marcel Albert Raymond (Josée Reid), as well as her husband’s family (Marcelle et René Corriveau (Irfan Badami), several nieces and nephews, other relatives, friends and work colleagues including those of various phlebology societies worldwide. She was the daughter of the late Marcel Raymond and of the late Jeannette Lavigne.
Dr. Pauline Raymond-Martimbeau leaves an invaluable contribution to the evolution of phlebology’s practice. She received her medical degree from l'Université de Montréal and a diploma from the American Board of Venous & Lymphatic Medicine after completing a post-graduate training in phlebology and vascular surgery in Paris, France. She began her career in Montreal and then opened a private practice in Dallas and Houston, Texas. She is Fellow of the American Vein and Lymphatic Society, Fellow emeritus of the Australasian College of Phlebology as well as Fellow member of the Canadian Society of Phlebology.


She has been President of the Canadian Society of Phlebology, Vice-president of the International Union of Phlebology, Treasurer of the American Vein and Lymphatic Society, an honorary member of the Société Française de Phlébologie and of the Collège Français de Pathologie Vasculaire. Up until her passing, she remained very active in teaching phlebology as Member and President of the Education committee of the International Union of Phlebology and Speaker at international and national meetings and congresses. She authored over 100 scientific articles and five textbooks including Ambulatory Phlebectomy.


Pauline left her own mark as pioneer of phlebology in America and will always be remembered as a passionate, devoted, generous, endearing and loving mother, grand-mother and spouse. She will remain in our hearts forever.


The family will receive condolences at the Mount-Royal Funeral complex, 1297, chemin de la Forêt, Outremont, Qc, H2V 2P9 On Sunday January 12th, 2025, as of 10:00 am Followed by a celebration of life from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. A reception will follow for family and close friends from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.


In lieu of flowers, a contribution made on the Canadian Society of Phlebology website is suggested towards the creation of the Dr. Pauline Raymond-Martimbeau Educational Grant in order to continue her exceptional involvement in the field of phlebology training (canadiansocietyofphlebology.org
