Peacefully, on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Whitby, at age 83. Joanna (nee Heemskerk) beloved wife of John A. Kersten or Port Perry. Loving mother of Tony Kersten and his wife Brigid, Marita and her husband Terrence Golphin, and Michael Kersten and his wife Robin all of Port Perry. Loved Oma of Kyle Kersten (Kailey), Matthew Baker (Melissa), Elizabeth Baker (Rowan), Noah Golphin, Nathan Kersten, and Jack Golphin. Great Oma of Paisley. Kersten. Will be remembered by her brother and sisters in Holland, and her nieces and nephews. The family of Joanna Kersten will receive friends at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171) on Sunday, January 8, 2023 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1710 Scugog Street (Hwy 7A) in Port Perry on Monday, January 9, 2023 at 11 a.m. with Father Keith Wallace officiating.
