Juliette Crête

1925 - 2024

Cowansville, February 21, 2024 At the age of 98, the soul of our mother, Juliette Leclair (née Crête, in Montréal), has flown away to join her departed loved ones. Daughter of Jeanne Vincent and Joseph Crête, and widow of H. Paul Leclair. She leaves her daughters: Suzanne (Max Garotta), Michèle (Danielle Leroux), Chantal (Michel Soulières) and Johanne; her grandchildren: Laurent (Teodora), Aurélie (Julien), Mélanie (Marc), Mathieu (Elena), Samuel; her great-grandchildren: Hugo, Lars, Eva, Jonah, Otis, Mark, Eliza, her sister Fernande, her nieces and nephew, Ginette, Lucie (Daniel), Danielle, Benoit (Lucie), Lise and her god-daughter Monique (Georges), many cousins and friends, the women of the Marie Reine Association and all those in Quebec who benefited from the Association's help and donations.

Juliette was a kind-hearted, energetic and determined woman, who worked for 26 years in the Filles d'Isabelle organization. She rose through the ranks until she was elected International Regent of the movement in 1984, an historic first for a French-speaking Canadian to hold this position. In 1988, she went on to found the Marie Reine Association in Quebec, helping shelters for abused women and incest-affected children. Her goal was to go further and accomplish more to alleviate human misery, to create happiness and joie de vivre. We are very proud of our mother... She now watches over us.
