We are deeply saddened to announce the death of Naïm Georges Batani at the age of 72. He left us recently to join his parents, Georges and Joséphine Batani, his sister Odette (late Michel Racha), and his brothers Gabriel (Christine Chano) and Raymond (Simone Gouel) who predeceased him.
He is survived by his sister Yvette (late Elie Wadieh) and many cousins, nephews and nieces whom he loved and for whom he showed constant care.
All will remember his great curiosity, his passion for economics and politics, and his many trips around the world, which he enjoyed telling his loved ones about.
Our most sincere thanks to the doctors and healthcare staff, especially at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal, who accompanied him for so many years.
Loved ones are invited to pay their last respects at the Urgel Bourgie Athos Funeral Home (3955 Côte de Liesse Road, Montreal), on September 4, from 6 to 9 p.m. A religious ceremony will be held at Notre-Dame de Nareg Armenian Catholic Church (858 Côte-Vertu Blvd. West, Ville Saint-Laurent), on Thursday, September 5, at 10 a.m.
