Marie-Claire Garneau Chaniotis

June 7, 1942 - November 1st, 2024

It is with deep love and fond remembrance, that we announce the peaceful passing of Marie-Claire Garneau at the age of 82 in her Pointe-Claire home.

She leaves to mourn her husband, Dr. Lambros Chaniotis, her children Nicolas (Tammy), Alexandra (Eric) and Christina (Kevin), her grandchildren Klio (Daniel), Éva, Lukas, Liam, her great-granddaughter Penelope-Claire, her brothers, Jacques (Lise) and François (Lise), her nephews and nieces, as well as many other cherished family members and close friends.

Marie-Claire was a 1964 nursing graduate of Ste-Jeanne-d’Arc Hospital. A devoted and dedicated registered nurse, she cared for patients of all ages with a particular gift for connecting with the elderly. Her journey took her from the emergency department, where she met her husband, to geriatrics where she eventually retired her career.

Marie-Claire (Mamie) was passionate about the great outdoors, found joy in gardening and observing wildlife and was renowned for her contagious laughter. Her love for nature at “Le Chalet”, was a source of inspiration and peace throughout her life.

She will be remembered for her love, her kindness, her resilience, and the warmth and smiles she brought to the lives of her family and friends.

She will be deeply missed and forever cherished in our hearts.

Family will receive condolences at the Belvédère Parlor (22025, Transcanadian Highway, Senneville, Qc) on Sunday, November 17th from 2pm to 3:30pm. A memorial service will begin at 3:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the CHUM Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
