Eric Say Chan Ramos

1990 - 2025

It is with deep sadness that we inform you of Eric Say Chan's passing, on Sunday, April 20, 2025, after a brave 33 day battle with septic shock. Eric passed away peacefully in Montreal, surrounded by family and friends.

Eric is survived by their mom Diana Ramos, in Mexico: their granddad Jaime Ramos (Irma); uncle Juan Carlos, aunt Monica, cousin Karla; aunt Laura Alicia, cousin Marianna and family, cousin Alejandra and family; uncle Jorge Luis, aunt Claudia, cousins Luis Daniel and Romina; dad Jose and family; close friends Ari, Olivia, Sperantsa, Tomy, Alexandra, and Markus; and their cat Jake Meow.

Eric was a free spirited artist who believed in freedom and justice and wanted to make a difference. Always kind, gentle, and cheerful, they were quick to lend a helping hand, coaching and mentoring their fellow team members.

From a very young age Eric was passionate about video games. It was a dream come true when they started working in the gaming industry as a Functionality QA Tester in 2011. Eric’s career evolved through the years as a Tester, Project Manager, Program Manager, Game Producer and their last role as a Senior Game Producer.

A polymath at heart, they enjoyed bouldering, cycling, snowboarding, cyberpunk, movies, music, reading, gardening, cooking, photography, fashion, design, technology, multimedia creation, video gaming, tarot decks, and anything else that piqued their curiosity.

Our heartfelt thanks to the personnel in the Verdun Hospital Intensive Care Unit for showing that they treat their work not as a job but as a vocation. They worked tirelessly to help Eric and were kind to their family and friends. They were deeply touched by their departure.
