Claudette Drouin, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on 29 April 2025 at the age of 79, at Charles-LeMoyne Hospital in Greenfield Park, after a brief illness.
She is preceded in death by Guy Labrie and Yvette Gauvin (parents) and Murielle Labrie (sister) and survived by her husband Pierre Drouin living in St. Lambert, her son Pierre-Claude ‘PC’ Drouin, her daughter-in-law Michelle Drouin, her beloved grandsons Tyler and Noah Drouin, Michelle’s mother Judith Rearick, all from Indiana, her lifelong friend and cousin Danielle Laliberté and husband Jacques from St. Bruno, her three sisters-in-law Nycoll Drouin Dumoulin (Quebec City), Camille Drouin West (St. Lambert), and Denise ‘Danny’ Drouin (Quebec City), as well as her six nieces. She is leaving behind a legacy of unconditional kindness.
Born in 1945 in Quebec City, Claudette lived an adventurous, generous life. She was the heart of her family—a strong, loving matriarch who made everything decadent.
Everyone who knew Claudette would say the same thing: She lived and loved well. Her son, daughter-in-law and grandsons were the lights of her life, and she made sure they felt her love by paying them regular visits in Indiana, attending the boys’ hockey games and painstakingly preparing warm meals for them.
In addition to the family she made, Claudette also embraced five additional children (Sarah, Karl, Shaun, Lauren, and Chris) and their mother, Judith, along with dozens of bonus grandchildren. She showed them all how to make everyday moments magical, and they will never forget that.
Claudette was an avid reader who had an insatiable curiosity for the world. A passionate traveler, she and her devoted husband of 55 years, Pierre, found—and brought—beauty everywhere.
All will honour her memory by living with the same kindness, courage, and sense of wonder that she so gracefully embodied.
A viewing will be held on 3 May 2025 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Urgel Bourgie Funeral Complex located at 8145 chemin de Chambly, St. Hubert, QC, J3Z 0H4, followed by a celebration of life from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., where friends and family will gather to remember her warmth and the immeasurable impact she had on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
