It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Francesco Ranieri, who left us peacefully on Sunday, May 4, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.

A devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather, he touched the lives of all who knew him. He is mourned by his children Onofrio (Eleni Tolis) and Lucia (Andrea Poloni). "Nonno" will be dearly missed by his grandchildren: Justin, Francesca, Nicole (Spyros Tzicas) and Vanessa (Chris Gdanian) as well as his great-grandchildren Adrian and Lucas.

Francesco will be reunited with his late wife Maria Tavano.

He is survived by his sister-in-law Gilda and family, nieces Giovanna, Rosemary, Brunella and Lisa and nephews Onofrio and Charlie and family, as well as many relatives in Canada, U.S. and Italy.

The family will receive condolences on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Urgel Bourgie Funeral Complex located at 1255 Beaumont Avenue, Mount Royal.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at noon at Our Lady of La Difesa, 6800 Henri Julien Ave. in Little Italy followed by burial at Notre-des-Neiges Cemetery.
