Mrs. Danuta Kociejowska Mazur passed away on January 11 at the age of 72. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Mr. Janusz Mazur, just three months prior to her passing. The couple shared a loving marriage that spanned 49 years. She will be greatly missed by her sister Wanda (Fiorino), and their children Vanessa (Derek), Adam (Christine), great-nephew Dante, great-niece Mia, and nephew Wojciech (Sharon). Mrs. Danuta Kociejowska Mazur passed away on January 11 at the age of 72. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Mr. Janusz Mazur, just three months prior to her passing. The couple shared a loving marriage that spanned 49 years. She will be greatly missed by her sister Wanda (Fiorino), and their children Vanessa (Derek), Adam (Christine), great-nephew Dante, great-niece Mia, and nephew Wojciech (Sharon). The family will forever hold her memory in their hearts. Danuta was the daughter of the late Irena Rakoca and the late Mscislaw Kociejowski, and was predeceased by her dear sister Halina.

Małgorzata for her kindness, unwavering dedication, and cherished friendship. Danuta was also very close to her cousin Marius, who lives in England.

Danuta was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend and will be remembered for her love of plants, traveling, fine food, passion for art, enjoyment of reading, and her deep affection for her poodle, Saba, whom she brought to Canada from one of her many visits to Poland.

She studied fine arts at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland, the oldest university in Poland. It was at this university where she met her future husband Janusz, as well as her lifelong friends Jasmina and Gaston.

Before her retirement she worked at La Guilde ( also known as the Canadian Guild of Crafts ) where she met Diana who became her lifelong friend.

A memorial service to celebrate Danuta’s life will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, from 6 PM to 9 PM, with service at 7:30 PM, at Kane & Fetterly Funeral Home, located at 5301 Decarie Blvd in Montreal.
