Obituary
Jean Karout
1932 - 2024
It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Jean Michel Karout, on 2 August 2024, at the age of 92.
Jean was a man loved by all, known for his unconditional love for his family and his infectious smile. His life was a symphony of joyous moments, challenges overcome and immeasurable love. Always ready to be of service, he leaves behind a legacy of kindness and generosity that will remain engraved in our hearts.
Jean was the loving husband of Odette Missad, with whom he shared 65 years of wedded bliss. Son of the late Michel Karout and Olga Odabachi, he is survived by his beloved Odette, his children Sélim Karout and Hani Karout (Lyne Legault), and his grandchildren Olivier Doyon-Karout (Geneviève Mailloux-Root), Hugo Doyon-Karout, Anaïs Mimiague-Karout and Anthony Karout.
He is also survived by his beloved brothers and sister: Robert Karout (the late Mary Dragatsi), Pierre Karout (Hoda Gad), Josette Karout (the late Selim Moukarzel), as well as many cousins, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends around the world, all touched by his great kindness and comforting benevolence.
The family will receive condolences at Salon Urgel Bourgie, 3599 Côte de Liesse, Ville Saint-Laurent, on Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 3 to 5 p.m.
The funeral service will be held at the Cathédrale Saint-Sauveur, 10025 Boulevard de l'Acadie, Montréal, on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at 11 a.m.
If you would like to pay tribute to Jean, consider making a donation to the Sacré-Coeur Hospital Foundation, rather than flowers.
