Born in Rock Mills, Ontario in 1936, Clayton died April 5, 2025 after over 50 years as a resident of Ottawa, Osgoode and Gatineau. He was predeceased by his son Tim Porteous and sister Irene (Ross) Allison. he leaves behind his step-children Michael, Deanna and Amy Porteous (Brian); his wife Eleanor Anderson; brothers Les (Marion) Porteous and Stan (Noel) Porteous; and his grandchildren Mollie and Emily Porteous, Amanda and Mathew Willsher and MichaelAnn Chapieski and his nieces and nephiews and their families.

Clayton first worked as a bank teller, then became a CGA in the early 1980s and worked as a manager at the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation until his retirement. He enjoyed gardening, baseball, crokinole, cycling, curling, playing bridge and spending time with his men's breakfast club. His family and friends welcome you to join them for a celebration of his life at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at the Kitchissippi United Church Hall, 630 Island Park Drive in Ottawa.
