Obituary
John Hillary Adams
1941 - 2025
Aged 83, beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend and brother, passed away on the morning of February 20th, 2025.
Born in Montreal on August 28th, 1941, John grew up in Montreal and Lac Memphremagog areas with his older sister Julie and three younger brothers, Lan, Rick and Fraser.
John attended law school at the Université de Laval à Québec and practiced law until age 81, meeting many friends along the way. John loved sports and the great outdoors, and met many friends during his years playing rugby and hockey, and during many fishing and canoe trips. He also loved spending time in the woods with his chainsaws.
John was loved by family and friends. He was always positive, good for a story, and offered a lot of volunteer legal advice throughout his years. John and Hélène opened their home and hearts to friends and family, as well as fostering two teens in their early years.
John is predeceased by his great love Hélène (née Gravel), and will be greatly missed by his two children David (Sarah) and Michelle (Jeremy), and his four grandchildren, Clara, Scarlet, Lucas and Arlo. John was proud of his family and was ever present with his time and affection. He was truly loved by his family.
John spent the last two years of his life living with dementia. The most wonderful team at Ste Anne's hospital - pavilion du Souvenirs 3B - are truly remarkable and will always be remembered. They treated Dad with such care and warmth and helped Dad find ease in his last days.
There will be a celebration of life at the Mount Royal Funeral Complex on Sunday, March 9th from 1 pm to 3 pm. *Please note Sunday March 9th is the time change.
