It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Wladyslaw (Walter) Winiarski on April 16, 2025, at the age of 91. A devoted husband to Czeslawa Sokol, beloved father to Andrew (Marie-Eve) and Mark, and cherished grandfather to Matthew, Luca, Philip, and Adam.

Born on March 2, 1934, in Poland, Walter later met the love of his life in Montreal in August 1967.  Married in 1968, they shared 57 beautiful years together, first in Pointe-St-Charles and later in LaSalle, Quebec.

Walter spent his professional life at Plant National, later known as Vulcan Containers in Lachine, until his retirement in 1999. A proud member of Montreal’s Polish community, he served as president of Bratnia Pomoc and dedicated many years as a warden at Holy Trinity Church.

He will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever held in our hearts.

Funeral Services
Visitation will take place at Urgel Bourgie / Athos, 1275 Dollard Ave., LaSalle, Quebec H8N 2J1, on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 24, at 1:30 p.m. at Holy Trinity Church, 1660 Centre Street, Montreal, Quebec H3K 1H6.
